About Me
I am a registered psychologist with over 25 years of experience. I graduated from the University of Calgary and the University of British Columbia, where I earned a Ph.D. in Applied Psychology. I work with a broad range of clients including children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families. My specialty is the treatment of children and families with a variety of issues such as anxiety/stress management, self-esteem, bullying, depression, ADHD/LD, weight management/eating disorders, separation and divorce, parenting education/counseling, and psychoeducational assessments. I use a variety of therapeutic approaches with an emphasis on cognitive behavioral therapy and structural family therapy.
Accomplishments
Provide psychological support and psychoeducational assessments to children, adolescents, families and adults in private practice settings. Worked in a variety of settings with a focus on children. Started the Pediatric Weight Clinic (PWC) and founded the Pediatric Obesity Foundation to support children and families with creating a healthier lifestyle. Published a children’s book that explores the analogy of a hamster on a wheel to help children gain an understanding of the importance of nutrition and being active in creating healthy lifestyles.
